The role:

We’re setting up our supply chain to produce high quality consumer IoT products at high volume using top-tier contract manufacturers. As the Director of Supply Chain, you will own the supply chain management from products in concept through final production, with extensive autonomy and control over how (and with whom) you execute.

 

Things you’ll own/do:

  • Own supply chain strategic planning

  • Oversee and own relationships with key supply chain partners

  • Manage commercial and technical supply chain, including all team members within the function

  • Work closely with counterparts at head of ME/EE to support product development

  • Lead negotiations and contracts with suppliers

  • Hire, develop, and grow the ideal supply chain team to support our business, both in US and Asia

  • Manage manufacturing development schedule and technical program risk

  • High level project management

  • Manage direct reports’ workstreams and prioritize resource allocation across our supply chain as needed

  • Actively managing supply chain risk and communicate to the exec team

  • Own product cost, including early cost targets, product launch cost, and sustaining

  • Manage the growth of our team in Asia and the creation of our Asia office

  • Implement processes and systems (PLM, ERP, etc) as needed

  • Travel to Asia 4-6 times throughout the year

 

Our ideal candidate has:

  • 10-15+ years of experience in supply chain management in a fast-paced, innovative environment

  • Proven success within a consumer hardware/electronics environment

  • Experience shipping a complex consumer hardware product on-time, on-cost, and at-quality

  • Manufacturing experience across both mechanical and electrical (PCBA)

  • Previous team management experience within a growing, successful supply chain environment

  • Dedication and drive to lead the production of world-class hardware

  • Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate across cross-functional teams, including up to the executive level

  • Ability and desire to travel internationally regularly throughout the year

  • MSME, BSME / IE / EE, or equivalent

  • Prior success at a startup

 

Bonus points for:

  • MBA or Master’s degree in Engineering, or related

  • Experience in the appliance industry
